Kitric Shavoy Reeves Jr., a 28-year-old African American man, was shot and killed outside a nightclub on North Main Street in Hope Mills, North Carolina, around 2 a.m. on June 23, 2019. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds, taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, and pronounced dead. Several vehicles in the area reportedly had their windows shot out during the incident.

Reeves was active in the regional music scene as the backbone of the rap group Deadplay Entertainment, which performed along the East Coast. Family members said the shooting followed an earlier altercation involving Reeves and another individual at a different club about a week before the killing. Sergeant William Donelle Dillard, described as a 26-year-old soldier assigned to the 407th Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Bragg, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder; investigators cited the prior altercation as part of the basis for the arrest. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office personnel processed the scene and reviewed nearby security footage as the investigation continued.

Did anyone at the club that night or who knew Reeves see anything that could help investigators?
