Jeremiah Tywan Grissett, a 38-year-old African American man, was reported missing in mid-December 2018 after last being seen on December 14 when he borrowed a vehicle from family; the vehicle was later found abandoned. His body was discovered on January 26, 2019 by bird hunters in a wooded area off Ten Mile Road in Tabor City, North Carolina. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery and said the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office would perform an autopsy.
Investigators determined Grissett was the victim of foul play and the death has been treated as a homicide.
If anyone knew Jeremiah, saw him after December 14, 2018, or has information about the abandoned vehicle or activity near Ten Mile Road, please share what you know with investigators.
