Dena L. Luedka, a 29-year-old white woman from Cameron, North Carolina, was shot dead outside her home on Sanatra Drive on November 8, 2018. The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at about 10:15 p.m. and found Luedka deceased at the scene; investigators noted she had suffered a gunshot wound and an autopsy was scheduled.

Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Gregory A. Cole, a black man who lived with her at the address, was taken into custody immediately and charged with first-degree murder. Cole was being held without bail at the Harnett County Detention Center, and his first court appearance was scheduled the day after the shooting. Reports say the shooting followed a dispute between the couple outside their home.
