Marc Loren Mays, 45, was shot and killed on September 3, 2018, in the parking lot of the Admiral’s Quarters condominium complex on West Catawba at the foot of Westmoreland in Cornelius, NC. He was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say the shooting occurred during the course of a robbery; Mays’ girlfriend, who was with him, witnessed the attack and struggled with a perpetrator over her purse and was reportedly injured.

Witnesses described the suspects fleeing in a dark green or blue-green mid-size SUV with a loud exhaust, and provided descriptions of two men: the driver as an African-American male in his mid-20s, bald, and the passenger as a black male in his mid-20s wearing a dark hoodie with scruffy facial hair.

Neighbors remembered Mays as a decent man who did smaller computer-related jobs and was a good neighbor in a typically quiet complex. Does anyone who lived near Admiral’s Quarters or saw traffic on West Catawba that night have information to share?
