James Christopher Davis, 45, of Salisbury, North Carolina, was shot and killed on April 21, 2018, at the Fishzilla Arcade on East Innes Street. An employee at the arcade, Davis was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead around 3:20 a.m.
The shooting followed a scuffle that began as a verbal argument involving Davis, his longtime girlfriend Cheviss Bennett, and 42-year-old social worker Dedric Michelle Mason. During the physical fight, Mason shot Davis. Mason was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Family members described Davis as a loving, protective man whose death left a deep impact, especially on his youngest daughter, who was three at the time.
Are there witnesses or anyone who was at Fishzilla Arcade that night who can add details about how the altercation started or what happened during the scuffle?
