Tyshaun Lavern Henry was 19 and from Camden, North Carolina when he was shot in Elizabeth City on June 16, 2017. He and an 18-year-old, McKenzie Farr, were found suffering gunshot wounds and Henry was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Investigators described Henry as a victim of a shooting. The circumstances of the incident and the identities of any suspects were not disclosed, and no arrests had been announced. The death has deeply affected his family and the local community, prompting calls for information to help identify those responsible.
