Vontrece Latrell Robinson, 35, was shot during a disturbance in the parking lot outside the Kamelot Lounge on Queen Street in Kinston and later died of his wounds at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on May 14, 2017. He lived at 1404 Railfence Drive and was born October 28, 1981.

Kinston Police arrested 25-year-old James Sparks III and charged him with Robinson’s murder; Sparks was held in the Lenoir County Jail without bond pending his first court appearance. Robinson’s funeral was held May 19, 2017, at St. Matthews Free Will Baptist Church in La Grange.
