Kenneth Ambrose, 58, and his wife LuAnn Ambrose, 60, were found dead in their Aulander, North Carolina home after a fire on March 28, 2017. An autopsy found both died from gunshot wounds to the head, and a handgun was located near Kenneth’s body. Although foul play was initially considered, investigators later determined the house fire was accidental.

No arrests or suspects have been identified and no criminal charges were filed in connection with the deaths. The couple’s deaths were widely felt in the Aulander community.
