Tyreek Dominick Moody, a 26-year-old African American man, was shot and killed in the early hours of January 18, 2017, in the 400 block of South Hollowell Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Police found Moody with an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe a 9-millimeter firearm was used and listed his death as Goldsboro’s first homicide of 2017.
Investigators conducted a neighborhood canvass and spoke with family members who were at the scene, including his mother, Stephanie Moody, and his sister, Tyneecia Oates. The Goldsboro Police Department is offering a cash reward for tips leading to a felony arrest.
