Sudon Williams, 28, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, was fatally shot and later died at Wayne Memorial Hospital on November 11, 2016. Early police statements said he was shot while assaulting his wife, Christina Suzann Williams, 24, but investigators later determined he was not assaulting her; the shooting happened during an argument between the couple. A warrant for an open count of murder was issued for Christina Williams on November 17, 2016.

She was arrested without incident, taken before the Wayne County magistrate and held without bond, and made her first court appearance on November 21, 2016. Police have not released details of the argument that led to the shooting. Crime Stoppers offered cash rewards and the police asked anyone with information to come forward.
