Randolph Davidson, 32, was fatally shot on November 6, 2016, at an apartment complex on Spring Drive in Garner, North Carolina. The shooting happened early in the morning after a domestic altercation between Davidson and his girlfriend, 26-year-old Kellie Jacobs Harris. The fight began inside Harris’s apartment and continued outside near the parking lot. During the incident Davidson assaulted Harris, who suffered multiple stab wounds.

A nearby resident, 26-year-old Kyle Jensen, heard the commotion and went outside. Upon seeing Davidson assaulting Harris, Jensen fired several rounds from his personal handgun, striking Davidson. Davidson ran back into the apartment and was later found by police. Both Davidson and Harris were taken to the hospital; Davidson was pronounced dead and Harris underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.
