Miguel Wenstley was 19 when he was found dead in his home on Sunset Drive in Milton, North Carolina, on June 4, 2016. Caswell County deputies responded about 1:15 a.m. and discovered Wenstley suffering from a gunshot wound; emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene and his body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
The initial investigation did not identify a motive or a suspect. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three people: Jonathan Marquette Hicks, 41, of Milton, and Ronnie McDowell McCain, 32, of Semora, were arrested on murder charges on June 8, 2016; Kymon Obrien Haley, 17, was arrested the next day and held on a $1 million secured bond. Authorities released few details and said the investigation was ongoing.
