Andrew Thomas was 20 when he and his 1-year-old son, Drew, were shot and killed on August 7, 2013, while sitting in a parked car in the Brookfield Village neighborhood of East Oakland. The pair had come to Oakland from Fresno to visit when a shooter opened fire on their vehicle. Authorities described the attack as targeted, with Andrew likely the intended victim and his son an innocent casualty.

Police linked the double killing to ongoing gang activity in the area, and no arrests were immediately made after the shooting. The deaths intensified concerns about gun violence and gang-related homicides in Oakland and left the family grieving and the community seeking answers.

If anyone knew Andrew or Drew, or saw something in Brookfield Village on August 7, 2013, please share what you know.
