Versean Jenkins, a 21-year-old African American male, was shot multiple times shortly after midnight on May 22, 2016, at Donel’s Convenience Store, 518 East Elm Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was taken to Vidant Medical Center but died of his injuries.

Investigators later charged two local men in connection with the killing. In September 2019 Dearron Strickland, 25, was charged with first-degree murder; he was already in custody on unrelated charges when arrested. TyQuail Price, 20, was charged with accessory after the fact and held on a $200,000 secured bond; he was also in custody on unrelated charges at the time.

The shooting remains a profound loss for Jenkins’ family and friends. Does anyone have information about Jenkins, the store, or the events that night that could help clarify what happened?
