Quentin Kenon was 28 when he was found shot on March 15, 2016, in the 400 block of Seymour Drive in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Obituaries list his birth as December 9, 1987, in Wayne County and name Wantonia Bowden and Priscilla K. McClain as his parents; he was survived by two children and was buried at Old Mill Cemetery after services at James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel.

Kenon had previously been charged in a 2008 Brookside Mart case that left store owner Ribhi Mohammed Frank Kandeel paralyzed; Kandeel later died in 2010 from complications of that gunshot wound. Kenon and co-defendant Joshua Earl Devon Davis were acquitted in 2012 when a jury found insufficient evidence to convict them of first-degree murder. Co-defendant Rashard Vondarius Oliver remained in custody after an Alford Plea in 2010 for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

The 2016 shooting that killed Kenon was not described as directly related to the 2008 incident; no details about arrests, suspects, or an ongoing investigation were provided. Did anyone in Goldsboro have information about Kenon’s last known movements or who might have been involved?
