Tavon Dionte Clark, 29, was shot and killed on October 20, 2015, behind the Neville Street Apartments near Tarboro in Princeville, North Carolina. The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office pronounced Clark dead at the scene; he was a resident of Rocky Mount and his death affected his family and community.
On October 23, 2015, 20-year-old J’Von Charmorris Coley was arrested by the Rocky Mount Police Department and charged with first-degree murder and conducting a pattern of gang activity in connection with Clark’s killing; he was held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond. An 18-year-old, Te’von Lamont Mabry, was also charged in Clark’s murder; Mabry was already jailed without bond on charges in a separate homicide and was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder related to the earlier case.
Investigators say several neighbors were present during the shooting but none reported seeing or hearing anything about it. Who in Princeville or Rocky Mount has information that could help fill in what happened that night?
