Nathan Rupert Pant, 37, of Lexington, was shot and killed on September 2, 2015, after a disturbance at a home at 1011 Rachel Lane in Salisbury. Salisbury police responded at about 6:05 p.m. and found Pant deceased and two other people wounded. Homeowner Tonya Veann Wilks, 41, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Desmine Marnic Kirkland, 28, of China Grove, was also shot and brought to the hospital in a private vehicle; both Wilks and Kirkland were later released.

A witness said they heard rumbling from inside the house followed by gunfire. Pant had prior misdemeanor drug convictions; Kirkland was on parole and had a past conviction for accessory after the fact of murder in 2010. Police had visited the Rachel Lane address four times earlier in 2015, though those visits did not appear related to the shooting. Investigators and a medical examiner later concluded Pant was shot in self-defense and no charges were filed in connection with his death. The relationship between Pant, Wilks, and Kirkland remains unknown.

Does anyone have information about what happened at 1011 Rachel Lane that evening?
