Kent Austin Taylor was 15 when he died on April 10, 2015, after being shot at an apartment on Atwood Drive in Lenoir, North Carolina. Emergency personnel from the Lenoir Fire Department and Caldwell County EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. Born November 15, 1999, he was the son of Charlene Adams Taylor and the late Bill Junior Tester, a student and a member of the Baptist faith. Funeral services were held April 18, 2015, at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery.

Investigators reported that a cousin, Dusty Boston, had brought a gun into the apartment and that the weapon accidentally discharged, striking Kent. Boston was charged with involuntary manslaughter and held in the Caldwell County Jail under a $50,000 bond while authorities continued to investigate the sequence of events that led to the shooting.

Did anyone in the community know Kent or have information about what happened in that apartment on April 10, 2015?
