Morris Timothy Holmes, 49, of Seven Springs, North Carolina, was fatally stabbed at his residence on 113 Al Drive and pronounced dead at a local hospital after being found in critical condition by deputies who responded around 6 a.m. on March 29, 2015. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported Holmes had been assaulted and transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities arrested 55-year-old Craig Bernard Melvin, also of Seven Springs, and charged him with murder in connection with the stabbing. Melvin was held without bond. Motive for the attack was not stated.
