Dalton Ray D MAN Campbell Jr., 21, of Vanceboro, North Carolina, died February 26, 2015 after a violent altercation that left him stabbed and shot. He was pronounced dead at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. The Craven County Sheriff’s Department reported the fight occurred at a home in Vanceboro and involved another 21-year-old man, Brodrick Lewis.

After the confrontation Dalton Campbell Jr. tried to flee in his car but crashed into a ditch shortly afterward; his combined stab and gunshot wounds proved fatal. Brodrick Lewis was also injured during the fight, with gunshot wounds to his leg and finger, treated at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville and later taken into custody. Lewis was charged with murder and held at the Craven County Judicial Center without bond.

Anyone who knew Dalton Campbell Jr., saw the events in Vanceboro on February 26, 2015, or has information about the incident is asked to come forward.
