Troy Roland Tidwell Sr., 46, was fatally shot during what appeared to be a robbery outside a party store in Detroit in November 2013. A father of three—two children in college at the time and a youngest attending a Detroit public high school—Tidwell’s death was sudden and left his family grieving and facing financial hardship because he had no life insurance. Two local businessmen paid for his funeral.
Police described the killing as a robbery-related shooting and appealed for community help, but the investigation eventually went cold. As of early 2024 there have been no arrests and no suspects publicly identified in connection with his murder. The family continues to await answers and justice.
If anyone has information about what happened that night or saw suspicious activity near the party store in November 2013, please come forward to authorities.
