Jamel Monee McCoy, 19, was shot and killed at her home on Condary Road near Selma, North Carolina, on December 3, 2014. Deputies say the shooting occurred about 9:45 p.m.; witnesses reported hearing gunshots that night and deputies searched the area with metal detectors the following day. McCoy and 47-year-old Howard Wood knew each other but were not in a relationship.

Wood was arrested by Johnston County deputies, charged with first-degree murder and held without bond at the Johnston County Jail. Neighbors described hearing the shots and the community was left reeling as investigators worked to establish a motive and the sequence of events that led to the killing.

Did anyone in the area have information about McCoy’s movements or contacts on the evening of December 3, 2014?
