Three men were found shot to death in woods behind a home on McLeod Drive in Maxton on November 30, 2014. Mitch Oxendine, 35, and John Freeman, 43, were shot in the head; Teddy Maynor, 34, was shot twice in the back. The location, called Little Swamp, is known locally for parties and drug activity.
Authorities charged 22-year-old Casey Collins Locklear of Pembroke with three counts of first-degree murder and he was held in the Robeson County jail without bond. Officials had not released a motive or the evidence that led to the arrest; relatives suggested the killings might have been retaliatory over some incident. Investigators continued to follow leads and conducted autopsies.
Does anyone in Maxton or the surrounding area remember activity near Little Swamp around late November 2014 or have information that could help the ongoing investigation?
