Peter Michael Jordan, 19, was shot to death on February 19, 2014, on the front stoop of a friend’s apartment at The Landings in Huntersville, North Carolina, off N.C. 73 near Birkdale. He died from multiple gunshot wounds; people inside the apartment heard the shots, attempted to help and called 911, and Peter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported three men approached Peter and shot him repeatedly, then left in a black Chevy Impala. Huntersville police have investigated for years, interviewing witnesses and pursuing leads, but no arrests have been announced and the motive remains unclear. A reward of up to $14,000, funded by Crime Stoppers and Peter’s family, has been offered for information leading to an arrest.

Peter had recently graduated from Hough High School and was remembered by family and friends as outgoing, friendly and funny. His mother, Carolyn Averill, and his family continue to grieve and keep his room as it was the night he was killed. Does anyone have information about the shooting or recall seeing a black Chevy Impala in the area that night?
