Jorie N. Washington, 43, was shot to death at her home on Uncle Buddy Drive in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on December 19, 2006. Her 18-year-old son, Xavier Z. Washington, was killed in the same incident. Both victims were taken to Albemarle Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Samuel Junior Jackson, 55, the couple’s live-in boyfriend, had been the subject of a report earlier that day after Jorie said she had experienced past verbal abuse. A police officer went to the home, spoke with Jorie and Jackson, then left. About 15 minutes later officers were called to the residence for reported gunshots. Jackson admitted to police that he shot Jorie and Xavier after an argument about Jorie moving out of his doublewide mobile home; he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and held without bail.

If anyone knew Jorie or Xavier, or has information about what happened that day, please share what you know.
