Ryan Alan Larison, 34, and his father, Rusty Larison, 59, were found dead in their New Richmond, Ohio home on July 14, 2022. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots early that morning and then discovering the bodies; the family says they heard gunshots before finding them and believes a break-in occurred. Initial reports left the cause of death unknown.
The investigation led to multiple arrests. Several teenagers, including an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old, were charged in connection with the deaths. Christian Montgomery, 17 at the time of the incident, was later found guilty of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and tampering with evidence and received a life sentence with parole eligibility after 66 years. Other teens, aged 16 and 17, were charged with various counts, and Dakota Pfeiffer, 20, was charged with tampering with evidence and later with aggravated murder after admitting to removing items from the scene. Anthony Montgomery, 18, faced tampering with evidence charges and additional charges later in the case.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation, and the community has been deeply affected by the loss. If anyone knew Ryan or Rusty, or has information about what happened that night, please share what is known.
