Seventeen-year-old Lawrence Morgan of Parma, Ohio, was fatally shot on June 21, 2022, on the 5700 block of South Park Boulevard. He had been in a car with acquaintances and got out of the vehicle before the shooting. Morgan was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and died of his injuries.

Investigators say the shooting was not random; a 16-year-old male who knew Morgan was arrested the next day after a search warrant at a home on the 3100 block of Liggett Drive. That juvenile has been charged with murder, felonious assault, and improper discharge of a firearm over a roadway. Multiple bullet casings were recovered and several people were seen running from the scene. The case is being handled in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court; detectives have not named additional suspects.
