Melody Phillips, a 49-year-old Black resident of Detroit, Michigan, was found dead on December 30, 2012. Her death is recorded among the many unsolved homicides from Detroit that year. Public details about the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the discovery of her body are scarce, and reporting notes gaps in witnesses and physical evidence that have hindered progress.

No suspects have been arrested or charged in connection with Phillips’s death, and there have been no trials or convictions. Her case remains open and continues to appear on lists of unsolved Michigan homicides as investigators and community crime solver groups hope new information will emerge.

If anyone knew Melody, was in that area of Detroit on or around December 30, 2012, or has information that could help, please come forward.
