On March 28, 2021, Jerode Daijone Hill, 29, of Hamilton, Ohio, was shot and killed outside the 513 Lounge in Middletown at about 2:14 a.m. The shooting followed a disturbance inside the bar; Hill was one of three men wounded in the parking lot and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The other two victims were expected to recover.

Middletown police say no arrests have been made in connection with Hill’s death and no suspects have been identified. Two men, Davion Gates and Jermaine Trammel, were later arrested on charges of felonious assault and discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, but those charges were not tied directly to Hill’s death. The case remains open as investigators seek the individuals responsible.
