Brandon Frank Nathanial Moneyham Sr., 36, of Middletown, Ohio, was fatally shot during the early hours of October 11, 2020. He had been at the 513 Lounge on Verity Parkway earlier that night and was later found dead behind a business at 601 North Verity Parkway with multiple gunshot wounds. The Butler County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

Initial reports say Moneyham left the bar with a group when shots were fired and investigators encountered limited cooperation from witnesses at the scene. A suspect, Marquan Cardelle Cortez Cook, 28, of Dayton, was identified, accused of shooting Moneyham in the parking lot, and later charged. Testimony at trial included an eyewitness account that Cook shot Moneyham multiple times; evidence showed Cook was wearing and then removed a GPS ankle monitor before fleeing to Florida, where he was apprehended by U.S. Marshals.

Moneyham is survived by his wife, Juanisha, and three children, Heaven’Lee, Bran’Dee, and Brandon Jr. If anyone knew Brandon, saw him that night, or has information about the shooting, please come forward.
