Jeffrey A. Brown, 59, of Ashville, Ohio, died at his home on December 28, 2019. A lifelong carpenter, he is survived by his mother, Margie Brown, and four siblings: Kathy Liff, Debbie Edgington, Ron Brown, and Myron Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Brown.

Jeffrey’s death was later connected to a larger criminal investigation that included a March 1, 2022 911 hang-up in the Frazee Lane area and a shooting at a Frazee Road residence that left two other victims, 31-year-old Jori Brown and 29-year-old Lawrence McMichael, dead. Two people, August Christopher Schuetz and Shania Nicole Jones, were arrested after a multi-county search and were indicted on multiple charges including Aggravated Murder, Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Burglary, Felonious Assault, Tampering With Evidence, and Gross Abuse of a Corpse. Shania Jones later pled guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit murder; Schuetz’s trial was pending.

The sequence of events linking Jeffrey Brown’s death to the broader case has been described as complex and tragic. If anyone knew Jeffrey or has information about what happened to him, please come forward.
