Michael ONeil Stewart II, a 35-year-old African American man, was found dead in his Middletown, Ohio, home on 9th Avenue after police were dispatched on a report of shots fired on October 12, 2019. Investigators say Stewart was targeted because of his involvement in drug dealing; he was shot and the suspect took drugs and money from the residence.

An 18-year-old Middletown man, Cameron Scott Kyles, was arrested and charged with Stewart’s murder. Detectives continued to investigate the scene and asked anyone with information to come forward as authorities worked to gather more evidence in the case.

Stewart’s family remembered him as a loving father, son, and friend; his obituary noted he enjoyed eating, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. He is survived by two sons, Santana James Stewart and Sincere Lenoxx Stewart, his parents, siblings, and other relatives and friends.

If anyone has information about the shooting or knew Stewart’s whereabouts before October 12, 2019, please share what you know.
