Katherine Colby Kate Brown, 33, of North Olmsted, Ohio, was found dead in the Rocky River Reservation in Fairview Park on June 4, 2019. Her death was ruled a homicide; she died of a single gunshot wound to the head. She had planned to meet longtime friend Carnell E. Nell Sledge, 40, at the reservation that day. Sledge was also found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Their bodies were discovered by two kayakers around 5:20 p.m., and police were notified immediately.

The investigation has involved Cleveland Metroparks police and the FBI and has included numerous interviews and tips, but no arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved. Kate, born October 12, 1985, was a graduate of Olmsted Falls High School, attended Bowling Green State University and Cleveland State University, and worked at a local jewelry company for seven years. Family and friends remember her for a compassionate nature and infectious smile.

Does anyone who knew Kate or Nell or who was in the Rocky River Reservation on June 4, 2019, have information that could help?
