Larry Green, a 28-year-old Black man from Detroit, was shot and killed while sitting in his car on the city’s east side in the early morning of June 7, 2012. The vehicle was parked across the street from the C-Note Lounge on Van Dyke Avenue between Seven Mile Road and East Nevada Street at about 1:00 a.m. An unidentified person approached, fired multiple rounds into the car, and fled the scene; Green died of his wounds.
Family and police have continued to seek answers. By early 2019 there had been no public naming of a suspect and no arrests. Authorities and Crime Stoppers have periodically renewed appeals for anonymous tips, but the shooter remained at large.
If anyone was in the area of Van Dyke and Seven Mile the night of June 7, 2012, or has information about the assault, please contact the Detroit investigators or Crime Stoppers with any tips.
