Cody Schnur, 22, of Massillon, Ohio, died of a gunshot wound on April 20, 2018, after being shot at about 12:15 a.m. at the home of Heather A. Feddick in Canton. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly afterward. Canton police described the shooting as under investigation and at one point considered the possibility it might have been accidental.
Detectives found a photo on Schnur’s cellphone showing Keith Bloomfield, 23, holding a .45-caliber handgun. That discovery led to arrests: Feddick was charged with felony evidence tampering and obstructing official business for allegedly removing and hiding the handgun from the scene, and Bloomfield was charged with having weapons under disability and obstructing official business. Feddick was held on $250,000 bond; Bloomfield was held without bond for federal authorities. Investigators continued interviewing witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the shooting.
Schnur’s family and friends remembered him as someone with a huge heart who loved to make people laugh. Does anyone have information about Schnur’s last known movements or about witnesses who were at the home that night?
