Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Thomas Porter, who was tragically killed at a Detroit gas station back in 2012, and it's truly been bothering me how this case and many others just seem to get colder by the day. A detail that often gets overlooked is the role the community can play in these cases. I know it's been emphasized before, but considering how much time has passed, sometimes people who were hesitant to speak up back then might feel differently now. Journeys with cold cases are often about piecing together small bits of information, and maybe someone remembered something, no matter how minor it seemed at the time.
Porter's family has been waiting far too long for answers, and it’s hard to imagine the weight they carry daily. I really hope that continued efforts with DNA analysis or perhaps a new witness stepping up might bring them some peace. It's such a painful reminder of how essential community involvement can be.
If anyone knows anything, however small, or just wants to discuss the situation, maybe we can keep the conversation going and keep Thomas's story alive.
Stay safe, everyone.
