Jalen Marquis DiCenzi, 22, of Canton, Ohio, was shot and killed on June 11, 2017. A McKinley High School graduate who played football and baseball, he was a father to a young daughter named Evelyn. The shooting happened at about 9:40 a.m. in the 14th Street and Miami Court NE area while Jalen was driving; childhood friend and former teammate Chad G. Fite II fired two shots at the vehicle and one bullet struck Jalen in the head. The car then climbed a steep embankment and struck two homes.
Following the shooting, an arrest was made and charges were filed. At sentencing Jalen’s grandmother, Susan Roberts, and his mother, Jalene Roberts, spoke about the family’s grief and their decision to forgive. Jalen’s family donated his organs, which were used to help four people, and they founded Jalen’s Angels in his memory.
What details about Jalen’s life or the events that morning might help someone who knew him come forward with information?
