Bruce Vuksta Stevens, 61, of Grove City, Ohio, was sitting in his car in a parking lot on December 20, 2016, when a stray bullet struck him in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports describe Stevens as an innocent bystander and say the shooting was a case of mistaken identity.

Police arrested 29-year-old Michael Kassner, identified as a member of the Lost Souls Motorcycle Club, in connection with the shooting. Kassner allegedly fired a shot that went through a wall and into the parking lot; he later turned himself in and was charged with reckless homicide. Stevens reportedly often worked from his car and parked at different locations; neighbors described him as a nice man who kept to himself. The shooting occurred just days before Christmas and prompted community concern about stray bullets and public safety.
