Frederick Lee Uselton, known as Fred, was a 50-year-old executive chef from New Matamoras, Ohio who was shot and killed at his home on August 28, 2016. He had worked at several local restaurants, including The Candlelight, Charlies, and Becky Thatcher, and was described as well-loved by his family and friends.

Investigators said the killing grew out of a love triangle. Fred had been dating Janet Dawn Shaw, who was also involved with Charles Wayne Loy, known as Chuckie.

Charles Chuckie Wayne Loy, 43 and from New Matamoras, was arrested and charged in the killing. He was tried on multiple counts, including aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, and tampering with evidence; the jury found him guilty and he was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
