Christopher Trent, 42, was killed in a drive-by style shooting on February 27, 2016, in Canton, Ohio. He and his brother Allen Trent, 40, were both fatally shot in the early hours in the parking lot of the Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority apartment complex; the brothers fell a few feet apart amid a reported spray of bullets that was heard by nearby residents.

Christopher had been released from a 9-month prison sentence for domestic violence just 12 days before the killings. The Canton Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation opened a joint probe and released 911 recordings from callers who reported the incident, and authorities asked the public to submit tips via tip411.
