James Burton III, 26, was killed on November 16, 2015, after a fight at Dino’s Bar and Grill (also known as the Time-Out Lounge) in Marion, Ohio. Burton had driven from Cleveland to Marion to help friends who needed a ride and had only been inside the bar a few minutes when an exchange of words with 30-year-old Ronnie Farley Jr. escalated into a physical confrontation. Patrons reportedly used pool balls as weapons during the melee. Farley drew a 9mm pistol and shot Burton twice in the torso; Burton died of his wounds.
Following the shooting, Farley was indicted on one count of murder and faced a potential sentence of 15 years to life plus a three-year firearm specification. Ortavious L. Hood, 19, was also indicted on multiple counts, including felonious assault and tampering with evidence, for actions after the shooting. Burton’s family described him as a peacemaker and have publicly mourned his loss while calling for accountability.
If anyone was at Dino’s Bar and Grill that night or has information about the events leading up to the shooting, please share what is known.
