William J. Bill Pike, 43, of Camden, Ohio, was found dead wrapped in a carpet on May 25, 2014, along Forney Road in Montgomery County, about 15 miles from Camden. His death, on May 22, 2014, was later determined to be a murder. Pike’s body was decomposing when discovered.
Investigators said Pike had been shot in the right side of his chest with what appeared to be a shotgun. David Ramsey, identified as Pike’s boss and roommate, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Authorities accused Ramsey of killing Pike at their shared residence on Pleasant Valley Road in Camden and dumping the body along a road in Jefferson Township. The motive was not disclosed; Ramsey was described as the prime suspect and a trial was scheduled for August 11, 2014, in Preble County Common Pleas Court before Judge David Abruzzo.
