Marvin Duane Brown, 73, was found shot to death inside his hunting cabin outside Powhatan Point, Ohio, on November 18, 2013. The autopsy found a single fatal gunshot wound to the back. Investigators suspected a Highpoint 9-mm handgun as the murder weapon, but no firearm was recovered.

Brown had been a well-known figure in the community, serving as Powhatan Point’s mayor in 1984 and 1985 and remaining active in local businesses and the American Legion. The investigation initially encountered few solid leads; there were no immediate suspects and little evidence to narrow motives despite Brown’s many local connections.

What details about the shooting or the days leading up to November 18 might still help explain who targeted him or why? If anyone knew Marvin, his routines, or saw unusual activity near his cabin, please share information with authorities.
