On February 13, 1994, a shooting at the Bucyrus Estates Apartments in Bucyrus, Ohio, claimed the lives of 39-year-old Linda Chatman, her 4-year-old niece Marchae Chatman, and her 24-year-old sister Marichell Chatman. Several others were wounded: Marichell’s boyfriend Richard Warren and two children, Quanita Reeves, 7, and Quinton Reeves, 4.

Authorities identified 30-year-old Kevin Keith as the suspect. Prosecutors said the shooting was retaliation for Keith’s arrest in a drug case, which he blamed on an informant connected to the victims. Keith was convicted of the murders and originally sentenced to death; his attorneys later argued that critical evidence had been withheld at trial. In 2010 Governor Ted Strickland commuted Keith’s death sentence to life without parole.

What details about that night or the investigation might still help clarify why this happened?
