Kevin Scott Loring, a 30-year-old from Duxbury, Massachusetts, was murdered on November 28, 1990, while deer hunting in a reclaimed strip mine area in Muskingum County, Ohio. He worked as a Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Mechanic.
Investigators later tied Loring’s killing to Thomas Lee Dillon, nicknamed the Ohio Outdoorsman Killer. Dillon, 41 at the time the spree began, stalked and shot outdoorsmen from ambush with a high-powered rifle; his crimes stretched from April 1989 through April 1992 and included at least five victims. A tip from a friend prompted police scrutiny, and a rifle Dillon had sold to a gun dealer helped link him to the murders.
The losses to families and rural communities were profound. If anyone remembers Kevin, his hunting location that day, or saw suspicious behavior in Muskingum County around November 28, 1990, please come forward with information.
