On New Year’s Eve 2021, 18-year-old Nasir Allen was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Wawa on Market Street in Linwood, near Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. Allen and two others were meeting with men to sell a half-pound of marijuana for $1,000 when the situation turned violent. According to investigators, the buyer, identified as Jahmier Council, produced counterfeit and insufficient money, an argument and a fight ensued, and a second man with Council, Zymear Jones, produced a firearm and shot Allen. Another person with Allen was critically wounded in the exchange.

Surveillance footage and witness accounts were used to identify the two suspects. Jones was reportedly already subject to a bench warrant for an assault charge, which made his possession of a firearm unlawful. Both men were taken into custody in separate locations.
