Kaii Nishaun McCargo, a 19-year-old from Uniontown, Pennsylvania, was killed in a drive-by shooting on September 4, 2020. He was sitting in a parked car with friends outside a home on Evans Street when another vehicle drove past and opened fire, striking him in vital parts of his body; McCargo was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else in the car was injured.
Uniontown police collected multiple videos and surveillance clips from the scene but struggled to develop concrete evidence. Friends who were present were largely uncooperative; one refused to speak with investigators. Police received several names as possible suspects but made no immediate arrests.
In November 2023 three people — Malik Belt, Devyon Dennis, and Micah Allen Craig — were ordered to stand trial on charges that included homicide, conspiracy, attempted homicide, and carrying a firearm without a license. In January 2025 a Fayette County judge dismissed all charges, finding the prosecution lacked sufficient evidence to proceed. McCargo’s family has been public in seeking justice and continues to hope for a resolution.
Did anyone in the community see or record the vehicle that drove by on Evans Street that night?
