Devon Pfirsching, 15, was killed on February 25, 2020, in an Altoona, Pennsylvania alley after being lured there by a group of teenagers who told him they were going to sell him marijuana. He was robbed and shot at the scene. Investigators determined that 17-year-old Owen Southerland was holding the gun that discharged and killed Devon.
Three other teenagers were charged in connection with the killing. Omedro Davis Jr., 18, and Logan Persing, 18, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and robbery-related charges; Davis Jr. received a sentence of 10 to 20 years and Persing 17 to 34 years. Southerland was later sentenced to 35 years to life. Damien Green, 17, was also implicated and faced charges related to Devon’s death. Devon’s father, sister, and grandmother publicly described the impact of his loss on their lives and the community.
What information do readers from Altoona or anyone who knew Devon or the people involved have that might shed light on the events leading up to that night?
