On the evening of October 6, 2019, a drug transaction on Rotz Avenue in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, ended in deadly gunfire. Twenty-one-year-old Shakur Myers of Philadelphia was found near a vehicle with gunshot wounds to his head and chest; another 21-year-old Philadelphia man, Samir Stevenson, suffered a shoulder gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The location was a few blocks from the Shippensburg University campus.
Pennsylvania State Police investigators say the encounter began as an arranged purchase of marijuana and turned into an attempted robbery. Authorities allege Myers and Stevenson tried to rob two Shippensburg University students, Clayton Wilson, 20, and Quentin Furlow Jr., 20, and that Wilson shot Myers and Stevenson. Searches of the vehicle and the students’ apartment reportedly turned up a stolen handgun, ammunition, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Wilson, Stevenson, and Furlow later faced various state charges related to the shooting and drugs.
Does anyone have additional information about the events on Rotz Avenue that evening or about Myers and Stevenson’s movements leading up to October 6, 2019?
