James E. Rust, 49, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was shot and killed at his duplex on Horning Road on June 20, 2019. Police say the shooting followed an argument with a 27-year-old neighbor; officers found Rust with a gunshot wound and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The neighbor surrendered at the scene and Allegheny County Crime Scene Investigators collected evidence. The case was presented to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office for review and, as of the latest reports, no charges have been filed.

Rust was a husband, father and stepfather who served in the United States Army and is remembered by family and friends.
